Geoff Turner is Senior Counsel at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP in Toronto, where he has practiced tax since joining Davies as an articling student in 1991. He advises on domestic and cross-border tax planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations and corporate finance. He has a broad base of transactional experience, with particular expertise advising Canadian-based multinationals on international tax matters.
Mr. Turner was an adjunct faculty at Western University Law School from 1999-2007, and in 2018, where he taught international tax law (teaching award of excellence in 2001 and 2007). He also taught international tax law at Osgoode Hall Law School in 2005 and 2010, and from 2005 through 2017 was part of the Davies team teaching Osgoode’s advanced business law workshop. Currently Mr. Turner teaches Taxation of Business Enterprises at Osgoode (since 2017).
Geoff Turner received his LLB from the University of Toronto in 1991 and his LLM from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2005. Prior to that, Mr. Turner received a BA (Honours) from Queens University (gold medallist in economics) in 1988, and an international baccalaureate from Lester B. Pearson United World College of the Pacific in 1985.
